Valley View Riders is a riding group founded in 1969, with a focus on recreational horseback riding opportunities and equine education for its members.

We are a group of about 150 riders, with members coming from Hillsboro, Canby, Oregon City, and all over the Portland metro area. We have a reputation as a "women's riding club", but our membership is not restricted to women.

Our members participate in various riding disciplines, including Western pleasure, hunter/jumper, dressage, gaming, showing, ranch versatility, driving, drill team, as well as many more. But most of all, we are enthusiastic trail riders, and enjoy meeting new friends to hit the trail with.

What We Do:
Monthly Meetings

Valley View Riders meets the first Thursday of each month at the Boones Ferry Comunity Church, 20500 SW Boones Ferry Rd, Tualatin.  Socializing starts at 6:30 p.m., and the meeting begins at 7:00 p.m.   Meetings often include a guest speaker or presentation; two meetings per year include a small Tack Sale. There are several special off-site meetings during the year, so be sure to check our calendar to verify the meeting place and time for the month.  If the weather and PCC does not hold evening classes, our meeting will also be cancelled.

Local Trail Rides
We have member-led club rides at various sites throughout the Willamette Valley and Southern Washington. We also keep members informed about trail rides, poker riders, and related events in our area.

Summer Camping Trips
We typically have two camping trips each summer.   Favorite destinations include Mt. Hood, Central Oregon, Mt. Adams, and Mt. St. Helens.

Fall Beach Trip
We usually have a beach trip in the fall.   Some years, it is a camping trip.   Other years, we rent a beach house and find local stabling for our equine friends.   Either way, it's a lot of fun!

Annual Benefit Ride
Valley View Riders is proud to host an annual benefit ride, to help raise money for a worthy horse-related cause.   Past beneficiaries include Sound Equine Options, OSU Equine Vet School, 4-H Youth Horse Camp, and several therapeutic riding groups and horse rescue groups.

Halloween Play Day
Our Play Day in late October provides our members and their families with fun horse games and activities.   And an excuse to dress your horse up in costume.

Fun Nights
VVR Fun Nights give us something interesting to do in the cold winter months.   Some Fun Nights are full of Pony Club games; some Fun Nights are working on drill patterns.  Either way, it's low key, fun, and a great experience for the horses.

Annual Awards Banquet

The annual Awards Banquet is held in the early spring, and celebrates the events of the preceding year.  The banquet always includes a great dinner and a really interesting guest speaker.

Other Activities
Throughout the year, we participate in volunteer trail maintenance groups and organized horse clinics. Our members also benefit from guest speakers at our monthly meetings and at our annual awards banquet.
